Founder, Eric Senseman, is an ultrarunner, writer, philosopher, veggie, coffee enthusiast, and traveler.
Originally hailing from St. Louis, MO and currently living in Denver, CO after recently exploring 25 countries in five months, Eric began his athletic pursuits in baseball, soccer, football, and racquetball rather than organized running. At the age of eighteen he finally pursued long-distance running for the first time after reading that “anyone can run a marathon.” In pursuit of the possible, he trained for three months and completed his first marathon in a time of 3:37:05; his marathon best has since improved by over 60 minutes to 2:36:19. In 2009-2010, he went on to represent the Horned Frogs of TCU in cross-country and track before receiving his B.A. in philosophy in December 2010.
Eric lacked competitive times at shorter distances and realized that his strengths manifested in longer-distance races, so he turned to mountain-trail-ultra running in 2011 while living briefly in Boulder, CO. In the fall of 2011, Eric relocated to Madison, WI where he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his M.A. in philosophy in December 2013. Since then he’s spent time traveling and racing extensively. In his still-budding long-distance running career, he has won six ultras and finished top 10 in a dozen others. In pursuit of a career outside of academics, he began freelance writing for iRunFar.com and UltraRunning in early 2014 and has since published more than three-dozen articles. At the start of 2016 and with great excitement, Eric joined an exceptionally talented group of runners on the Scott Running team.
